“The Ancient Mariner”
Based on the poem (and Iron Maiden song) of a similar name, this short film assignment fixates on a anguished sailor lost in his own past. When ghosts start to take over his head, he begins to realize what he should have done all along.
With my priorities being lighting, composition, production design, and sound, I wanted to create an entertaining but meaningful maritime-themed short.
“Recent Transaction”
Short film I directed and shot for a class assignment. In just under a minute, a man loses a object, chases it, and finds it again (spoiler alert). It shot with a basic camera, but composition, sequencing, and editing rules were used.

Although the name “Bamaland” was later changed to “Crimson Warp,” this theme park concept ideated by Bama Theme Park Engineering & Design was finally revealed to the public in this release. The music was also composed by myself, and the graphics were animated in Premiere Pro.

Before I moved into advertising, I wanted to go into film production, so in high school I made a couple very short films. The best of these was the first one, “Swan Lake.” Based on Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s music, this stop-motion film was my attempt at lighting, special effects and cinematographical storytelling.
(It’s a little artsy in my opinion) But it was my first real attempt at filmmaking.
Though I cringe at some of the things I did, it still remains as one of the most important projects I have done.
